A custom sauna installation should feel deliberate at every scale: the location in the home, the layout inside the room, and the system that makes it work.
Begin with capacity and everyday use
Decide how many people you want to accommodate and how the room will connect to the rest of the home. Consider the entrance, seating layout, changing space and where towels or personal belongings can sit outside the cabin.
A floor area alone does not establish a comfortable arrangement. Ask to see the proposed bench configuration, door movement and equipment location as part of the layout.
Treat glazing as part of the room specification
Glass can connect a sauna visually to the garden or a wellness suite, but it also belongs in the equipment and construction assessment. The selected supplier needs the actual room dimensions and materials to develop the system.
Discuss the balance between privacy and views. Coordinate glass, lighting and timber together so they support the intended atmosphere without being chosen independently of the technical brief.
An outdoor sauna includes more than the cabin
A garden installation may include a base, an external enclosure, service routes, a terrace and access through the property. The proposal should identify these items separately from the sauna equipment and internal room fit-out.
Outdoor exposure and material choices need review for the actual setting. Clarify the scope for surrounding works and the route to any adjoining cold plunge, shower or changing space.
Make installation requirements visible
The project should identify the heater or selected infrared system, controls, electrical provision, enclosure build-up and ventilation requirements. The chosen manufacturer’s installation instructions govern the system.
Electrical and enclosure coordination should happen before finishes close the room in. Handover includes the agreed checks and controls demonstration, with operating guidance and clear contacts for service or warranty questions.

01Can an unused room become a sauna?
It may be suitable after the dimensions, construction, ventilation and services are reviewed. A room photograph or a floor area alone is not enough to confirm the installation.
02Should I choose a traditional or infrared sauna?
Start with the experience you prefer and compare actual supplier systems. The equipment and room construction need to be designed together; the choice should be made before the detailed specification.
03Can the front be fully glazed?
Glazing can be explored as part of the design. It affects the room specification and heating assessment, so the chosen system supplier needs to account for it.
04Can I include a cold plunge in the same project?
Yes, the spaces can be coordinated under one brief, subject to feasibility. Plan the route between them alongside drainage, equipment access and the differing service requirements.
05Does Veyrune sell sauna heaters on their own?
The focus is custom sauna rooms and substantial fitted installations. Heater-only retail and minor service calls sit outside the project coordination service.
06How should I compare two home sauna quotations?
Compare the same room size, capacity, enclosure, finish, glazing, selected equipment, electrical and ventilation scope. Check what the price excludes and whether associated construction, commissioning and handover are included.
